Leather Seat Bolster Wear

February 2, 2026

The Issue:

The damage on this leather seat was located on the outer bolster area, where wear typically develops from frequent entry and exit. In this case, the leather was worn through along the decorative stitch line, making a surface repair insufficient. The panel itself was compromised, so the correct solution was a full panel replacement.

In The Process

To perform the repair properly, the seat was disassembled and the upholstery cover removed. The damaged leather panel was carefully unstitched, and a new panel was cut from matching perforated leather to ensure consistency in texture, perforation pattern, and color. Special attention was given to leather selection so the new panel would blend seamlessly with the original upholstery.

Once the panel was prepared, the decorative stitching was recreated using matching thread, and the new panel was stitched into the seat cover following the factory stitch pattern. After installation, the cover was reinstalled and the seat fully reassembled.

Final Result:

As you can see in the final result, the seat has been restored to a like-new appearance. The repaired area is visually seamless, structurally sound, and free of any signs of previous damage, preserving both comfort and the vehicle’s overall value.
