The Task:
This classic emerald green leather armchair, a centerpiece of the room, had suffered significant damage to its right armrest. Years of use combined with extensive pet clawing had shredded the leather’s surface, leaving the armrest with deep gouges, loss of color, and a rough, “fuzzy” texture. The challenge was to stabilize the peeling leather fibers and reconstruct the smooth, rounded contour of the armrest while ensuring the hand-rubbed vintage patina was perfectly preserved.
The Result:
We restored the armrest to its original elegance through a meticulous multi-step process. After cleaning and prepping the area, we used a specialized leather binder to strengthen the damaged fibers, followed by a flexible filler to level the claw marks. Our color specialists then custom-blended a multi-tonal green pigment to replicate the chair’s unique aged finish. Topped with a satin protective sealant, the repair is now invisible to the eye and smooth to the touch, fully restoring the chair’s premium look and feel.
