Torn Seam Repair

February 1, 2026

The Issue:

At first glance, the damage appears to be a torn seam. However, there is no actual seam in this area. The stitching is decorative, and the leather panel itself was torn along the stitch line.

This is a single, solid leather panel, not a few panels joined together. Because of this construction, the only proper way to repair the damage is to replace the entire panel and recreate the decorative stitching.

In The Process

To replace the damaged panel, the seat had to be disassembled and the cover removed. The old panel was carefully unstitched, and a new panel was cut from matching perforated leather.

Next, the decorative stitching was recreated on the new panel using white thread, after which the panel was stitched into the seat cover.

The final step was reinstalling the cover and reassembling the seat.

Final Result:

As a result, the customer now has a seat that looks perfect, with no visible damage
