The Task:
This antique chair arrived with significant structural damage to the leather seat cushion. Whether it was the result of age or a bored pet, the original leather was torn and punctured, making a simple surface repair impossible. Because this is a high-traffic area on a decorative piece, the goal wasn’t just to hide the damage, but to perform a full structural restoration. We needed to find a replacement leather that matched the vintage character of the chair while providing modern durability for daily use.
The Result:
Don’t get frustrated when you see a tear in a classic piece—it can be saved! To achieve a factory-perfect finish, we carefully deconstructed the seat and replaced the entire leather panel. By resewing the new cover into the existing ornate frame, we ensured the stitching was precise and the tension was perfect.
