Vintage Rolls-Royce Seats Restoration

January 24, 2026

The Challenge:

A customer brought us their vintage Rolls-Royce seats in need of a complete refresh. The leather was heavily aged, showing significant cracking and a nearly non-existent top coat.

Because these seats feature a highly complex design with numerous panels and intricate seams, creating entirely new covers was cost-prohibitive. After discussing the options, we decided to repair and restore the original leather to preserve the car’s character while staying within the customer’s budget.

The Result:

The customer was highly impressed with the transformation. Unless you knew these seats were original to the car, you would swear they were brand new.

Our Process:

  • Deep Cleaning: This is always the first and most critical step. It allows us to accurately evaluate the level of deterioration and hidden damage.

  • Strategic Repair: After cleaning, we developed a restoration plan. For deep cracks, we intentionally avoid overfilling them with compound. This prevents the material from “jamming” or cracking again under the pressure of daily use.

  • Color Matching & Dyeing: To bring back the original elegance, we custom-mixed a matching tint. Following professional leather dyeing techniques, we applied the color using a combination of sponge work and precision spraying.

  • Protection: We finished the process with a durable protective top coat to ensure the leather remains soft and resilient.
